DONALD T. KIRKENDALL, PhD, teaches human anatomy, physiology and training physiology at university level. His research interests focus on sports medicine and physical performance, with a particular emphasis on team sports and soccer. He was a member of FIFA's Medical Assessment and Research Center (F-MARC).
ADAM L. SAYERS, PhD, is an instructor at East Tennessee State University (ETSU), in the Departments of Global Sports Leadership and Sport, Exercise and Kinesiology. A UEFA and USSF Level A licensed coach, he is on the scientific staff of the U.S. women's teams, working with the U16, U18, U19 and U20 national teams.
